Prophetic Guidance about Fajr on the Day of Jumu’ah

Jumu’ah has a special place for Muslims. The Prophet (saw) instructed us to glorify this special day in a certain way.

It is reported in multiple places such as Sahih Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, and an-Nasa’i that the Prophet (saw) would recite Surah al-Sajdah and Surah al-Insan in the Fajr prayer on the day of Jumu’ah. The reason for this given in Ibn al-Qayyim’s Za’d ul Maad is because these two surahs contain reminders of creation. Along with that, they include important topics relating the return to Allah (swt), the creation of Adam (as), entry into Jannah and Jahannam. They also include information about things past and things yet to come whose occurrence is on a Friday.
