Tameem ad-Dari narrates that the Prophet (saw) said, “The deen is naseehah (advice, sincerety)” We said, “To whom?” Prophet (saw) said, “To Allah, His Book, His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk.”
Islam is a very beautiful way of life. The reality of the deen, the true essence of it, or a very important part of the deen is naseehah. Naseehah means that a person has true feelings of genuinity for others and wants what is best for them. The person giving naseehah will also strive to be the role model for others. The results of this naseehah is a special bond with all of the Muslims.
Along with the act of naseehah there are a couple of conditions that need to be met. The one giving the advice needs to be giving it in a humble manner. The person giving needs to be sincere in wanting whats best for their fellow Muslim. Along with that, it is a must that the one who is being advised needs to accept the advice no matter what its source since it is only a cause of reform and good. The advisor should be kind and have respect and love. And Allah (swt) knows best.
